About the event
World Transplant Day 6th June
World Transplant Day, observed annually on June 6th, celebrates the gift of life. It is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation while honouring donors, their families, and the medical teams who make life-saving transplants possible
The day focuses on four core pillars:
Honouring Donors: Recognizing the selfless individuals and donor families whose generosity offers a second chance at life. A single donor has the potential to save up to 8 lives and heal over 75 others.
Celebrating Recipients: Highlighting the strength of patients worldwide who live healthy, active lives thanks to transplantation.
Raising Awareness: Educating the public about the critical, ongoing demand for organ donors and encouraging more people to register their donation wishes.
