In May 2025, the team from Thomas Vaughan Ltd completed a truly grueling mission to support a cause close to their hearts. Scaling the three highest mountains in Wales—Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), Cadair Idris, and Pen y Fan—is a feat in itself, but this team took it a step further with their unique "Plus 180" twist.
To symbolize the 180 liters of blood that healthy kidneys filter every single day, the team carried a total of 180 liters of red-colored water across the three summits. This heavy, symbolic load served as a moving tribute to the resilience of those living with kidney disease and a reminder of the vital work performed by our bodies every hour.
The challenge was a massive effort to raise both awareness and funds for Kidney Research UK. By tackling these peaks within a single 24-hour window, the team highlighted the urgent need for research into better treatments and the life-changing impact of living organ donation.
The results of their dedication were nothing short of incredible. The team successfully surpassed their original targets, ultimately raising over £9,000 (exceeding £11,000 with Gift Aid). These funds have gone directly toward transforming kidney health and supporting the "Share Your Spare" campaign.

The "Plus 180" challenge proved that with enough determination and community support, one team can make a mountain of difference.
